The system is integrated into the customer production-line, making the waste treatment essential element of manufacturing process
The systems consist of a plasma reactor (i.e..,a special gas reactor equipped with a plasma torch) supporting 24/7 operation. As a result of the interaction between the waste stream and the high-temperature between the waste stream and the high-temperature ionized air jet (about 3,000 Cº), all thermo-stable components in the waste stream are destroyed and organic compositions are gasified to carbon dioxide and water by means of the following progress:
1. Destruction of all thermo-stable components:
CxHyXz→ xC +yH+ zX
C- carbon H-hydrogen X- Halogen
2. Gasification of organic compositions to CO2, H2O and halogenated acids.
C + O → CO2
H + O → H2O
H + X → HX
The radicals will react with an excess of oxygen. The excess of oxygen atoms is supplied from the atmosphere. As a part of the process, the compounds of water and carbon dioxide will be produced
After these processes, the hot gases, which exit the plasma reactor, enter the quenching system where they undergo rapid cooling. Fast cooling of the processed gas prevents the formation of non- desirable compounds.
Process water is used for the rapid cooling. After quenching, the gas flow proceeds to the absorption system, where the halogen acids are absorbed in the circulating water or neutralized by an NaOH solution.
The out-coming gases, which do not contain any organic components, are meeting international environmental standards
